Switching System Power Dividers
Merrimac expertise in power dividers and combiners is often applied to more complex sub-systems. Shown here is a switch matrix sub-system that divided and combined signals in three discrete bands in the 60 MHz to 4 GHz range. Sub-systems like this one often split signals into as many as 32-ways requiring very special designs to maintain performance or to meet the environmental constraints.

Complex I & Q Phase Detector
Developed for one of the latest Doppler weather radar systems, this state-of-the-art I & Q phase demodulator sub-system can detect minute variations in the reflected radar signal phase caused by movement of water molecules in the air.
Precise phase and amplitude balance as well as exceptional stability are essential characteristics of this Merrimac sub-system.

Phase Calibration Sub-system
The sub-system shown here is used to calibrate a variety of avionics control systems in production and maintenance environment.
The system shown generates four outputs differing only in their relative phase. Each channel can be independently set and varied over a 900 range. The common signal can be selected from an internal VCO in the UHF band or can be a calibrated white noise source.

Merrimac Hi-Rel Capability
Merrimacs approach to the design and manufacture of high reliability components is described in A Commitment to High Reliability Signal Processing Components". This publication details many of the factors that affect reliability and discusses how Merrimac processes and procedures aim to insure the highest reliability in all its products.
A second brochure, "Look to Merrimac for Your Hi-Rel Needs ", details many Hi-Rel components designed and built by Merrimac. As mentioned above, Merrimac is preparing for ISO-9001 certification. In addition, all Merrimac personnel are undergoing extensive, continuous TQM training to instill the underlying philosophy needed to insure Quality is more than a word; its a lifestyle.
