Merrimac Develops Multi-Mix PICOTM Hybrid Junction for Wireless Network Solutions

Merrimac introduces its new Multi-Mix PICOTM hybrid junction. The Multi-Mix PICOTM HJD-Z series substantially reduces the size and weight of conventional hybrid junctions while offering customized power levels up to 100 Watts CW.

The PICO hybrid junction can function either as a hybrid junction or a balun and extends the breadth of Merrimac's Multi-Mix PICO product line of quadrature hybrids, directional couplers, power dividers, and in-line couplers.

Multi-Mix PICO HJD-2Z-1.9G provides the following advantages:
  • Small Size...Same exact footprint as quads, couplers, and power dividers
  • High power...100 Watts CW
  • Low Insertion Loss...(.35dB max.)
  • High Isolation...(23dB min.)
  • Cost effective
  • Can be integrated with other Multi-Mix® components in a multi-function module
The Multi-Mix® HJD-Z series provides a 3dB hybrid junction with low insertion loss, high isolation, and high power handling in a small outline. Accurate phase and amplitude balance, make them ideal for use in PCS power amplifiers, beamforming networks, matching baluns, signal distribution and processing functions. They can also be used in monopulse receivers for processing signal feeds off the antenna.

This versatile architecture enables the design of other hybrid junctions at various frequencies in order to meet certain specific customer requirements, wireless network applications and a host of other applications, such as, 2G and 3G basestations, portable wireless devices, broadband wireless internet, and space and defense applications.
