Merrimac Revises Filtran Production Order Downward for Wireless Basestation Transceiver Circuitry

WEST CALDWELL, N.J., March 4, 2002: Merrimac Industries, Inc. (AMEX: MRM) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Filtran Microcircuits Inc. has revised its production order downward from a leading supplier of telecommunications equipment to provide customized circuitry that will be deployed in wireless basestation transceivers. The initial revenue estimate of $500,000 is being revised downward to approximately $190,000, which should be shipped during the first quarter of 2002. Previously estimated follow-on orders for the next twelve months of approximately $1.7 million will be re-evaluated as market conditions change.
