Merrimac's Microwave Products Group Receives ISO 9001 Certification - Completes Third Phase Of ISO Certification; Entire Facility Now Registered
WEST CALDWELL, NJ (December 20, 2000) - Merrimac Industries, Inc. (AMEX: MRM), a leader in the design and manufacture of RF Microwave components, assemblies and Micro- Multifunction (MMFM
TM) Modules, today announced that Factory Mutual Research has awarded the ISO 9001 Certification to Merrimac Industries RF Microwave Products Group manufacturing facility. The ISO 9001 Certification verifies that the RF Microwave Products Group complies with the internationally recognized standard for Quality Systems and the Model for Quality Assurance in Design, Development, Production, Installation, and Servicing.

Carter, Chairman & CEO, stated, "Organizations that have achieved ISO 9001 Certification have developed, demonstrated and documented standardized processes for building quality into their products and services. The ISO 9001 Certification is recognized as a standard for quality by industries worldwide. Moving to an ISO 9001 Registered Quality Management System will allow Merrimac to offer additional confidence to our existing customers that we have both the technical and process acumen to satisfy their current and increasing future production requirements. Further, this certification expands our potential customer base and enables us to pursue additional market opportunities."

This accomplishment is a refection of the capable and cohesive team we have brought together throughout our worldwide facilities."
The RF Microwave Products Group has achieved ISO 9001 Certification, marking the facility fully compliant with world-class production and quality standards. ISO 9001, established by the International Standards Organization, is a quality management system that sets a global standard for manufacturing and quality assurance processes and ensures that a company's products and services are among the best in the world. Certification followed a comprehensive assessment by Factory Mutual Research, a third-party registrar. The third-party audit and earlier internal reviews and evaluations covered every phase of design, fabrication, assembly and quality inspection as well as inventory control, purchasing, contracts, finance, servicing and many other support processes.
