Qualification testing was performed on the Multi-Mix® module MRC-2A-3G. This double-balanced mixer is a seven layer assembly, containing a ring of Schottky diodes. It operates over the frequency range 1.4 GHz to 5.0 GHz.
Ten modules were submitted for qualification testing, and all ten passed the screening requirements. There is one caveat, however. The surface finish of this ten piece lot was immersion tin, which was not expected to pass solderability. Normally, a fused tin/lead or nickel/gold finish would have been used, but those processes were not on-line at the time of qualification. Solderability was performed in order to expose the modules to the environments of "steam-age" and then submerging in molten solder. Electrical performance after these harsh environments was proven to be invariant.
The following table summarizes the qualification tests that were performed. Ten modules were submitted for LEVEL I and LEVEL II testing. Two modules were submitted for LEVEL III testing.
