Policy

It is Merrimac Industries mission to maintain a safe and environmentally sensitive organization striving to eliminate foreseeable losses resulting in an injury or illness to a co-worker, damage to equipment and property or seriously impacting the environment.

Commitment

Consistent with this mission, Merrimac Industries will:

1. Insure the safety of all co-workers is considered as part of the design and operation of equipment;
    
   
2. Incorporate appropriate fire protection, environmental control and emergency notification equipment as part of the design and operation of our facilities;
    
   
3. Strive for the conservation of natural resources by minimizing the use of hazardous materials and the generation of hazardous waste in our processes and products in addition to implementing appropriate recycling and resource recovery programs;
    
   
4. Be a responsible corporate citizen, complying with applicable safety and environmental laws, regulations and industry standards as a minimum and establishing our own procedures, objectives and targets when appropriate;
    
   
5. Continually improve our management system to support the evaluation and integration of applicable safety and environmental considerations into our business decisions and planning activities.

Responsibility

Safety and Environmental management is a shared mission. Implementation of this policy is a primary management objective that requires all co-workers to work as though good S&E performance is their own responsibility.
